Representative Falzone and City Councilor Lozzi Announce Public Hearing on Lynnfield Street Project
State Representative Mark Falzone and Ward 1 City Councilor Wayne Lozzi announced a Design Public Hearing to discuss the reconstruction of a portion of Lynnfield Street in Lynn. The hearing will take place at 7 pm, Tuesday, November 17th, at City Hall, Room 302, 3 City Hall Square, Lynn. The hearing will solicit views and comments for the Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation from all interested parties on roadway and safety improvements from Colonial Avenue to 150 feet south of Floyd Avenue. These will include drainage improvements, granite curbing, cement concrete sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, minor utility relocations, installation of a new flashing beacon at the Lynnfield Street and Great Woods Road intersection, new roadway pavement and pavement markings, traffic signing, and other incidental work. Representative Falzone noted, “This hearing provides an opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Lynnfield Street Reconstruction project, and all views and comments by the public are welcome and will be considered.” Councilor Lozzi emphasized, “This is an important meeting on the future of our neighborhood which is the gateway to Lynn. I encourage all interested residents to join with me in attending Tuesday’s 7 pm hearing at City Hall whether you plan to submit testimony or not.” To secure the necessary rights–of-way, land acquisition in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required, with the City of Lynn responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public land. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing with an engineer in attendance to answer questions, and a project handout will be available on the MassDOT website. Written statements and other exhibits, in addition to or in place of oral testimony at the hearing, can be submitted either at the hearing or postmarked within 10 days of the hearing to: Frank A. Tramontozzi, P.E., Chief Engineer, MassDOT – Highway Division, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, ATTN: Project Management Section, Project File No. 602077.
